Life is a little bit strange in Building Eight where
Walter Hugh lives. First of all, there’s the incredibly
slow elevator that a snail could outrun. Second of all,
the neighbors are downright odd. There’s old Mr. Thelby
who’s always trying to cheer Walter up. And a neighbor
above him, Dante Belafonte, has a lot of ferrets and is
always trying to impress his boss. But that’s nothing
compared to the ladies who live way up on the 26th
floor. Something is growing on their friend, Tonya, and
no matter how hard they guess they can’t figure out
what it is. Finally, there’s Shelly who lives above
them all and recently needed advice from Dr. Tomelli.
Big mistake!
The Snailevator and the People of Building 8 is a book
of quirky children’s poems about some really unusual
people. You’ll probably start laughing out loud and
you’ll probably want to read it over and over again,
so just be warned about that. It’s a good book. I know
cause I wrote it.
Yours truly,
RL
