High school senior Zander thinks he’s in for the adventure of a lifetime, sailing a millionaire’s luxury yacht from Seattle to Hawaii with his dad, his girlfriend, and her cat, Mr. Jackson. But one night somewhere in the deep Pacific, someone shoves him off of the deck where he is sleeping. Adrift a thousand miles from land, he watches the yacht erupt into flames and disappear into the sea. Just when hope is gone, a desperate cry leads him to Mr. Jackson and an overturned Native American canoe. Surrounded by the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, Zander must turn floating trash into tools for survival—or die trying.
